Just a couple of days ago, I broke into the top 10k most popular blogs on Technorati. A blog's ranking is calculated based on their "authority" algorithm, which is basically how many different blogs link to yours in the last six months.
Sure, it's pretty exciting to be assigned this ranking, but like most blog metrics, it's probably not as meaningful as most people think. Technorati authority has virtually no correlation to how good the blog actually is, it's just a popularity contest.
Nevertheless, it really doesn't hurt to try ...
