When you are in the internet marketing game, especially when you are a beginner, you are constantly searching for new and improved ways to make money online.
Makes perfect sense.
The problem is, the IM infoproduct market it completely saturated with “Get rich” here and “Make money” there. Sales pages are written specifically to lure you into pulling your credit card out.
There are plenty of good IM eBooks out there, but way more crappy ones. It isn’t always that easy to distinguish the two.
What’s worse though, is that more people than you’d think (you may even be one of them) will constantly be buying the latest big IM product in hopes that it will open up “the golden road” to making money, and yet do nothing with the information.
I’ve read many many stories of people with dozens of eBooks just sitting around on their hard drives, unused and unread, and the crazy thing is that these people STILL go out and buy more! They are truly addicted.
Let me make one thing clear right off the bat.
The Silver Platter Does NOT Exist.
There is NO eBook that will give you the complete and undeniable step by step guide to making big bucks online.
This is what many people forget. An eBook alone is just information, it’s up to YOU to make things happen. If you aren’t willing to put it a lot of hard work, experience your fair share of failures, and work hard (did I mention that?), then stop buying information.
If you don’t use information, it’s Useless
Also, make sure you actually NEED the info you want to buy, or at least are sure you will USE it.
BUT, decide this BEFORE you read sales letters!!
Sales letters are designed to convince you that you need these products, and they are very good at it. So, look at the topic, what you get, price; then and only then should you read even a fraction of the sales letter.
Sorting Lemons from Gold
Before buying an eBook, here are a few tips that can help you decide if this is a quality product.
A. Look for honest reviews (not just promotions)
B. Judge the quality of the site (visual, fluffiness)
C. Research the author, is he trusted one among the community?
D. Check out the Warrior Forum for reviews
E. Does it have specific information you need?
That’s all I can think of right now, but the basic idea is don’t trust their sales pages to base your decision upon. Find out about the product from other sources.
On a final note, remember I review internet marketing products, services, and programs on this blog (lots of reviews to come). I personally USE every product I review, so as to help you get the best information possible, and avoid all the crap out there.
For a while, my reviews will be mostly about good products, since I try only to buy the best. But I’ve also seen my fair share of crap, and I’m not afraid of letting you know about it.
As soon as people submit products for review to me, chances are the number of bad reviews will go up. I can’t afford to buy every popular eBook out there, so unfortunately I’ll have to rely on submissions for now. (I do seek them out though)
One day though, I hope to be able to really review as many products as possible, good or bad; even if I have to buy the bad ones myself ![]()

that’s true, most info found on e-books can be found for free by searching google/torrents/similar ones, they are useless sometimes!
You are right, although I have yet to by one of these “You too can make a ga-billion dollars in 2 months” ebooks. I got two saved on my computer, both are free, and one is from John Chow. It does take a lot of work, I’ve been studying Affiliate/Network/Social marketing thing for a little while, and its not a get rich quick business. But it seems like you could possibly make some serious money from it.
There is no doubt that you can make serious money online, but it’s not by buying a bunch of infoproducts and not doing anything with them
Main point, beware of hype. It will suck you in and won’t let go.
Definitely don’t take this post as a “don’t buy eBooks”, there are some really good ones out there. Just don’t buy them unless you are going to USE them
I was once one of those people who bought an EBook with the intent to use it and didn’t. The ones I bought required you spend money I didn’t have anymore because I spent it on the Ebook!
I’ve learned but I’m sure many out there have not.
[...] If you have some starting funds, then it is totally fine to start on this level. It can accelerate your learning when you can invest in some info products. However, I definitely recommend you watch your spending, and limit your purchases to those that you are sure you will read and apply. Don’t get addicted to infoproducts. [...]
I would agree somewhat as I have certainly purchased a lot of ebooks that are resting quietly on my hard drive. However it’s simply a matter of making sure you will use the information. I can also say I have learned a lot and make my living selling information.
I do offer a the web page code with all my ebooks and resell rights, but again the buyer has to decide if they want to offer it. Time and time again I have had someone say I do not actively sell your stuff but once in a while it fits and I might as well earn a return from the recommendation.
