I think it’s pretty obvious that the more money we can earn with affiliate marketing, the better! There are some extremely lucrative opportunities out there that may not be as hard as you think to convert. Sure, you might get like 2-3 times less conversions, but when you’re making 9-10 times more money, who cares right.
While I always recommend that your affiliate marketing should always be based on genuine recommendations, and never “just” for the money, it never hurts to find the best possible affiliate program to suit your marketing strategies, and to make you the most money. Here I’ve listed a bunch of different opportunities that can potentially bring you huge commissions.
Recuring Payment Products/Services
This encompasses things like membership sites and web services. With these, you could in theory be receiving commissions every month for life! Every month that a customer continues to subscribe, you get paid. Just imagine you referred a customer who stays on a program for 5 years, and you get a $10 commission a month, that’s $600 just for that 1 referral! And while that may not be a norm, it is totally not unreasonable either.
There is a lot of potential here to make huge bucks; just start compounding all the customers you could refer over time, and you will be seeing big checks like clockwork. Here is a super easy way to find some great recurring payment style programs easily using my current favorite affiliate network of choice, Clickbank.
Simply go to their marketplace section, and in their search box, select “Recurring Billing” as the product type, and search the niche of your choosing.

This will give you a list of products that should have a recurring billing payment structure (although it seems a tad buggy at the moment, so investigate the products you are interested in further.)
Another fantastic recurring payment program would be from web services, like web hosting and mailing lists. If you think about it, people who subscribe to these will most likely be using them for a very long time. There are lots of different opportunities here, target ones you believe will retain customers for the longest time possible.
Also, a fantastic idea is to look for programs offer trials; that way you can get people in the door much easier, and while not all of your trials will lead to full, recurring payment customers, you will at least have many more prospects.
Here I’ve listed some really good recurring payment affiliate programs you can try out:
Clickbank - My current favorite place to find affiliate products to sell. Specializes in digital products, and now membership programs too. Here you really can find opportunities in lots of different niches. If you can’t find anything that interests you here, you can also check out the other big affiliate networks like CJ and PayDotCom, but most of their listings are single payouts only.
Wordtracker - Keyword Research is an integral part of Internet Marketing, so this could potentially lead to many “lifetime” customers who are trying to make money online.
HostGator - (Affiliate Program link on top right) When you buy web hosting, chances are you will put websites and other important things on it. So, chances are that someone who signs up for hosting will stay on board for a very long time (possibly until the end of the internet!). Hostgator is the best web host in my opinion, and their affiliate program is very nice.
AWeber - (Affiliate Program link on top right) If you spend a lot of time and energy building a list, that can literally make you money every time you send out an email, do you actually think you would drop this service easily? Another good example of potential extreme long term customers, and another great affiliate program.
SiteSell - This is a great program to market to people who want to make money online, but feel that their lack of technical skills prevents this. Big commissions here, and again, when someone subscribes and puts in the time and effort to develop their SiteSell business, they obviously won’t unsubscribe easily.
Market Health - This affiliate program is for health products, and while it technically does not use recurring payments, you can still make money should a customer re-order more of a product you recommend. So, if you believe in these products, and think others will really like them, then perhaps it’s an opportunity to consider.
The re-ordering is an example of a different kind of “extra” payment that you can get extra income from. You can also look out for products that offer back-end commissions as well, as it is proven that once someone buys a product, they are more likely to buy again from that merchant.
I’ve really just scratched the surface here. You will find that there are a lot of privately run opportunities out there as well, but I must warn you that there is always the possibility of being scammed when you are dealing with individuals, so be careful and do your research before spending your time and money promoting products. If you use a well known company with credentials, like the ones above, you can rest assured that you will be compensated for your affiliate referrals.
Big Ticket Seminars
A huge affiliate commission can also simply come from a huge purchase. For example, there are many seminar style courses in the Internet Marketing domain that sell for well over $1000, and just by referring a customer you could get a huge chunk of that. Now, it’s obviously more difficult to have someone fork over that much money, but there are plenty of marketing strategies you could use to make it easier.
For example, remember earlier how I mentioned that people who bought something were proven to be more open to buy again? Well, if you had a smaller product you sold, and then at a later time, sent your customers information about a seminar or big ticket course that complimented your product, then they would definitely be more willing to get more information.
You can look around in popular Internet Marketing Forums, like the Warrior Forum’s JV section (members only) for big ticket seminar opportunities.
Expensive Physical Products
You could also just market expensive physical products. While commissions for physical products are MUCH lower than digital (4-12% physical compared to 50-75% digital), you can still make big money. Take for example if you sold big screen TVs as an affiliate, well each sale may only net you 4%, but on a $3000 sale, that’s still $120. Think about other expensive items, like jewelery, electronics, even cars! These things can actually be easier to sell too, even with the higher price tag, since pretty much everyone wants these things.
There are lots of places to find physical products to sell, like CJ or Amazon, as well as on big retailers’ homepages.
Well I hope this has given you some ideas on how to make some nice huge affiliate commissions! Now get out there and make some money!!!

The recurring billing idea is something I’ll have to explore. Remember, big ticket areas are very competitive. Even something like hosting is a tough market. Still hosting pays a $65 to $100 commission, so even if you sign up one friend you get a nice bit of cash.
i choosed recurring payment via clickbank as a great idea from you, thanks for this.
I have been meaning to look into this. As far as big physical products go, check out ShareASale. A while back I going to add all of their datafeeds to a database, but once the record count went over 1 million, I rethought that. That’s a lot to choose from.
The thing about the Amazon affiliate program is that a lot of the products they carry are actually other companies products and these companies have their own affiliate programs. I researched this around Christmas. If you go directly to the company you get a better commission because they don’t have to pay Amazon out also.
Great tips, thanks Stephan!
You may also use KeywordSpy in your keyword research.
I never realized that you could choose the recurring billing option. Great idea!
Thanks
