My friend Max over at MoneyBites.com has just launced a new site that should interest you bloggers out there.
BlogGears.com is a website where you can pitch your blog to prospective readers in a 60-90 second video by telling them why they should read your blog, what sets you apart, what you have to offer, or whatever else you want to say.
Then, viewers can comment and upvote/downvote videos they like/dislike, and find new and exciting blogs to check out.
It’s an interesting take on social bookmarking, and it helps readers get to know the people behind the blogs.
So, if you’re a blogger, head on over and submit a video today! It’s totally free, and could definitely grab you some nice exposure as this cool new concept site continues to grow.

I've got plenty more great posts coming up you won't want to miss!

It’s going take me a while to get up the nerve to do this one. I can barely stand recording voicemails. But it seems like a good service. Where’ve you been lately?
I’m of the same mindset as Stephan. I can do podcasts, but having my mug out there doesn’t sound too appealing. I need to do a video for my freelance profile too, but haven’t done that yet. Cool idea for a site though.
Yeah, I see where you guys are coming from. I think videos are a pretty cool way to add a lot of personality to your blogging, but that first video can definitely be a hurdle.
An audio section could be an interesting idea, I’ll pass it along.
@Stephan: Good to see you! Lately I’ve been focusing on the PPC marketing game, and unfortunately this blog has suffered because of it. I’m hoping to soon bring it back though, with a bit of a new direction, so stay tuned
I disagree with the video comment - find them very distracting. Thanks for an interesting article!
Well, it’s good to see you back here.
I might be the outcast here, but 60 - 90 sec is too long, i don’t have that kind of time, do you? When I’m looking for a new blog such as yours, I i want quick relevant information, i really don’t want to sit through 60 sec of your blabbing, sorry, maybe if they cut it down to 15 sec, then possibly it would survive.
Thanks for the idea..I will definitely check this out. I am always looking for ways to promote my blog.
great idea…but i guess they are right 60-90 seconds is quite too long..a little bit shorter will do..but anyways, it was a great idea.

Though the idea is good for blog promotion, I’m not too sure if I were to survive that 90 seconds of camera fright. I guess I have to give this one a big miss.

Certainly an interesting idea and if used correctly (and the site itself is marketed correctly) could be quite effective for getting high quality visitors that will make repeat visits to your blog. I’ll have to check them out once I launch my blog, and buy some kind of video camera obviously
P.S. I typed 18 for the 7+9 spam protection, college is bad for brain cells I guess.
this is pretty coolbut i don’t have that gut to simply promote my blog this way. ^^ sounds very interesting though but i have no vid talent. too bad.
For a potential and genuine blogger(Who would have some nice blogs or chain of blogs) 90 seconds are nothing and if someone says that it is too long time, I am not agreed with him. I have many blogs and I can talk several minutes on their introduction or to elaborate the summary that what they have. I like the rating system there and it is good that we have 2 separate section there, one for bloggers and one for readers.
Honestly, BlogGears is one of the best blog-related site I’ve ever seen. It’s given me (and others) a chance to discover new blogs. Now I just need to create my own video!

Cool idea, the website reminds me of an Xbox 360 game called Gears of War. It’s interesting to really find out if your blog is worth viewing or not, it’s like a shot at fame. I will give my blog a try but I dont’ think it will be that famous.
this is g8
its awesome
hum… are you on vacation? :p
This tool is really great. Readers want to know about a blogger, before they can assert authority on the contents. That’s why I Started the http://www.superprofitsmedia.net

Interesting article.Thanks for the post.
nice! Ill go have a look now
interesting post! that new tool sounds cool. will look at it!
Thanks for the information, this is a great tool.
I’ve done some podcasting, but like most I hate making videos. I’ll have to give it a try.
Doris
The site looks excellent, i look forward to seeing more cntent added over there
Thanks for sharing the link!
this is a great post, they site are pretty great, it going to take some time to mastermind these new tools. but they are great.
Well, that is a good idea and I heard about this. ITs ways better than submitting a video to youtube because you are marketing your blog, specifically to people who may be interested. In youtube, you have to do a little bit more to get page views. Good idea. I should go over there right now and talk about my new blog.
It’s an interesting take on social bookmarking, and it helps readers get to know the people behind the blogs.
I can see the huge marketing potential of advertising yourself to your visitors this way. On the other hand, it can be daunting going to video if you don’t feel like you have “star quality.” I tend to hide behind my screen myself even though I’m also a professional musician who is used to performing. That’s different, though, because I’m in a group and somehow I feel more anonymous.
But thank you for sharing this resource. I’ll definitely be pondering how to use this on my blogs.

This is a fun site, but I am afraid I am with many others here, just plain scared of making a video
I’m not sure whether I am confident for this yet, but it seems like a good method of promotion.
what a great idea! Anything that can give some free exposure is worth a try, so why not?
its very good concept and i can expect the organic traffic easily with this kind of blogs
Thanks
What a cool concept. I am slightly camera shy, but it is a neat way to expose yourself
It is always interesting to get to know the blogger, adds more personalized depth for the visitors.
oh that’s great news will surely check out now itself.. dropped my entrecard here
If I wasn’t so camera shy then I’d try this. Nice post anyway though, thanks =)
I think BlogGears comes up with an interesting idea.. a video is simple way to describe something
