I discovered a really awesome tool that can take your affiliate marketing to a new level. There has been a lot of buzz going around lately in the IM community about how video is the future of marketing. While I’m not really sure this is true, there’s no doubt that a video presentation can be another effective way to reach people.

Of course, making videos can be a pain, and if you’re like me, it’s not something you really want to do. I don’t have software for it, nor do I want to spend $299 bucks on Camtasia or something like that just yet, especially when you don’t know if video marketing will work for your niche and site.

So, here’s a really cool free way to add some zing to your affiliate marketing. What you can do is find a video (or upload one yourself) on Youtube, one that is maybe a review of a product you want to sell, or an informative presentation, and add pop-up balloons over the video.

You can do this at BubblePly

With BubblePly, you can add clickable link balloons that can appear at anytime you want for however long you want inside a video. Here’s an example I made in like 5 minutes. I searched up “Affiliate Elite Review” in Youtube, and looked for a review without much on-screen text or website addresses. Then, I just put up a simple affiliate link of my own.

Of course, you could make it look a lot nicer, I just wanted to show you an example here. It’s a pretty awesome tool though, because you can use this technique in addition to your other link methods, and it looks much more interesting to the reader.

The only problem with the service is that my Firefox browser blocked the links, deeming them pop-up ads. If you try clicking on the ad in the video above and it doesn’t do anything, look at the bottom right corner of your browser and see if there is a blocked pop-up icon. It worked fine for me in IE6 though.

Give this a shot on your website, I’m sure you can not only provide some more interactivity and info to your readers, but you could potentially find a new high conversion affiliate marketing strategy! I’ll try and bring results to you from my own attempts in the coming months.

[Update:]Here are a couple of free video capture programs I have found, although haven’t tried:
