Welcome once again to another edition of the Sunday Blog Review. This week I was reviewed by two different sites, so it’s only fitting that I return the favour. I am slowly retooling this segment to become a more detailed and sometimes critical review section, and as usual, please let me know if you enjoy it
So, without further ado, here are this week’s featured blogs:
Tetsujin’s Blog
Small Fish Big Money
Full reviews after the jump!
Tetsujin’s Blog
This is a tech/funny/personal blog run by Cameron, a computer science university student who embraces his inner geek. The blog has a very nice design, and it has to have the funniest mascot I have ever seen. I laugh everytime I see it, I have no idea what the heck it is, but it’s genius!
The blog posts are pretty unique and creative, and pretty random at the same time. It’s a fun read though, and a nice light hearted break from a hard day’s work.
Just to give you an idea of how random and funny his blog is, he’s currently running a contest to see who can deface the most public restroom toilet paper rolls with his blog address. Hilarious, and a pretty funny idea. I hope he can actually bring us some results if he sees any increase in traffic because of this
Anyways, Tetsujin’s blog is a lighthearted geek blog that I’m sure some of you will enjoy. Cameron is also offering One Buck Reviews right now, so if you have a blog, you can’t miss out on that!
Small Fish Big Money
I’ve got to say right off the bat that I’m really impressed with Small Fish Big Money. The author Fabien is a really nice guy, and I was pretty surprised to see that he was only 15.
The design is very well done. It has a slight resemblance to John Chow, with the large header section and newsletter signup, but it’s very sleek and stylish. The fish theme is really quite genius, and ties together with his image of the small fish in the big sea (of money!). Colour scheme, template, and navigation are all superb. I would not hesitate to say this is one the nicest looking “make money blogs” to date.
Fabien writes really good posts very consistantly, and you can really see the vast amount of work he has put into this blog. He posts several times a day, all with interesting information.
Right near the bottom, there is a series of posts in where he outlines his theory of “Initialize, Optimize, Monetize, Synergize”. This is a really cool blogging guide, and I think it deserves more exposure, perhaps below your header graphic.
His posts are also really well composed, and have very good readibility. With many bold words and headers, it’s easy to find stuff that really interests you.
He also offers free blog consultations, which is an extremely generous offer that I hope will give him some great exposure in the future. He doesn’t shove ads down your throat either, he gives so much on this blog, yet doesn’t take every opportunity possible like most other bloggers to make a quick buck. That really says a lot about Fabien as not only a blogger, but as a person. He is there to help you.
Fabien is definitely wise beyond his years, and I’m sure he will have great success in his entrepreneurial endeavours. I highly recommend that you check out this blog, it has valuable information all over the place, and can really help you with your web projects.
Here are a few great posts on this blog:
