On December 19th, 2007, I was inspired by Alan over at Affiliate Confession to take on the 30 Day Blogging Challenge. The concept was simple. Supercharge your blog by posting everyday and commenting frequently on other people’s blogs.

Here is my original post declaring to the world that I was taking on the challenge!

Well, I’m proud to say that I have succeeded! For 30 days since then, I have posted and worked hard everyday on my blog and on establishing contacts in the blogosphere, and the results have been awesome. Far greater than I had expected!

Writing posts everyday was challenging, because it can be tough to think of ideas to write about daily, especially as a new blogger. It’s a radical change from posting once every few days, or less. I think it was a great learning experience though, and has helped me develop my blogging prowess ;)

The best part about blogging seriously is having regular readers who join in on the discussion and leave comments on a regular basis. It’s awesome to build and participate in a community. I’m looking forward to seeing it grow even further!

In terms of the traffic benefits from blogging everyday, well here is my analytics data:

The 30 Day Blogging Challenge is Complete!

I went from 0 visitors, all the way to an average of about 130 visitors a day! Now granted, I do attribute most of this to Entrecard, I’m positive that should I had not embarked on this challenge, that the Entrecard results would have been a LOT less significant.

I know a lot of people just chain drop my site or whatever, but I also know from the participation and comments on my blog, that some people like it too. I’d like to thank everyone for their support and kind words!

In terms of things I should improve in, well I think I should be writing more “great” posts, but when you blog daily as a beginner, it can be pretty hard to write gold everytime. Nevertheless, I think I will continue to blog daily as much as possible so that I can continue to improve.

Anyways, I encourage you to embark on a 30 day challenge of your own! It’s a great feeling to look back and see that you’ve accomplished something, and improved something about yourself.

And make sure to tell people about it! As Alan says: “Sure, you can say you are going to do it and have the best of intentions, but by telling the world and letting other bloggers hold you accountable because of your commitment you are buying into the deal just a little deeper.”
