I woke up this morning to a seemingly regular day; I took a shower, ate some breakfast, had a mini day plan in my head of what kind of work I was going to do… But holy cow it’s just one of those days. I am totally incapable of working ><
Do you ever get that feeling, when you are too lazy, groggy, or unmotivated to do anything productive? Why do I even ask, I would be absolutely shocked if you hadn’t at least once in your life.
I’ve got to say, it sure is annoying! Heck, even a few hours ago, I realized I was having this kind of day, and told myself that I would at least write a blog post (not about this mind you, but I’ll save it for another day ;P) and get a few other little things done, and just cut my losses and take a day off. Yeah that was a few hours ago… As you can see, it’s taken me a loooong time to get going on those tasks.
I wonder what triggered the change in mind frame from “Ok, let’s have a good workday!” to “Ugh I can’t work…”
I’m sure there can be plenty of reasons, but does it suck or what! Well I’m still going to follow my own advice, and just cut the day short and have a work free evening, so that I can clear my mind for tomorrow.
I don’t like it, but I suppose I deserve a break
Do you ever have these days? What usually triggers them, and what do you do about it? Can you get in gear or do you call it a day? Discuss! ![]()

I swear, i’m sittin’ here lookin’ at the computer like my blog is supposed to automatically update itself. I haven’t posted since last week…not good. Maybe its because spring semester just started and my mind is overloaded, need time to adjust to going to school full-time again.
You just described my Monday. I called in sick :p
This was my Wednesday. It’s getting better though.
Funny that you mention this. I just got over my writers block I had from last week, and I hadn’t posted anything in about a week as well. I think sometimes you just need some time off. Maybe have someone put in a guest post or two while your thinking.
I guess I’m not alone
The funny thing is that right after I wrote out this post, I started working! Actually managed to get some stuff done.
I still cut the day short, and had a relaxing evening, but next time a day like this hits, I think I will try a quick break, perhaps a walk outside, then I will sit down and just start working, no matter how crappy it may seem.
Just getting started seems to give you a good chance of breaking lazy day syndrome.
Writer’s block is a whole different story though >< Perhaps try and work on something else until inspiration hits.
